CLUB HISTORY
Mungret St Pauls Ladies Gaelic Football Club was officially formed in 1991 by Vera O'Brien. However, let us not forget that the seed was sown in the mid 1980s when we fielded a team at adult level and participated in competitions within the county. Then in 1991 an official Limerick County Board was formed and with that our club was officially affiliated to Cumann Peil Gael na mBan and as the saying goes the ‘rest is history’. The first adult title came in 1991, winning the County Senior League, followed by Senior Championship titles in 1992, 1994 and 2013 Junior Championship in 1999 and Intermediate Championships in 2001, 2006 and 2011.
Several of our players have worn and continue to wear the green and white of Limerick at every level with distinction and as a club we are very proud of this. It was a momentous day for the club in October 2010 when five members of our club - Yvette Moynihan, Catherine Murphy, Olivia Giltenane, Martina Giltenane and Marie-Claire Curtain - walked up the steps of the Hogan Stand in Croke Park as members of the successful Limerick Junior Team that won the All-Ireland title. We look forward to many more days like this in the future.
As well as running the club, several of our members have served and continue to serve as members of the Limerick County Board.
