The U13 footballers had 3 matches in 2 weeks luckily the furthest they had to travel was to neighbouring Ballybrown. Having already played Newcastle West they now had Ballybrown to play and having already faced Ballybrown in hurling and recorded a victory there so were expecting them to give a great battle especially as we were on their home pitch. By half time there was not much in it with Mungret just ahead. After the break Mungret and Ballybrown both played a great game and Mungret came out on top with a score of 1-5 to 3-2. Their next match was home to Fr. Caseys and knowing that both Newcastlewest and Ballybrown had lost to them we had to bring out our A game. This was played at 6pm the same night as the Jigs and Reels. Fr. Caseys played a great game and Mungret found it hard to get the better of them. We managed to score 2-2 against them but Fr. Caseys were the top team in the Division. Well done to this team for putting the work into the games we look forward to seeing them back on the field next year. Thank you to the coach Eoin Shanahan for all the time he has put into this team.
